Due to a workplace accident on 20th May 2020 which ended in me suffering a fractured tibia and multiple knee ligament injury of the extensor mechanism, and knee dislocation, I was transferred to Mr Parker and Mr Ali at the North East London Treatment Centre where I underwent an operation for an external fixator followed by a further operation for an open reduction internal fixation with fibre tape to augment the extensor mechanism. I personally feel the two operations were very successful. I am very grateful to the two consultants for their high level of care, professionalism and surgical skills whilst always taking my own personal experience and feedback about the injury into consideration. All subsequent consultations have been very beneficial due to their willingness to listen to feedback and progress and provide appropriate advice and post operative care. A big thank you also to the theater staff who worked with the two consultants and supported my recovery, all whilst dealing with the added pressures of the start of the COVID pandemic. K Dines.

I was referred to Mr Parkar after finding out that I had snapped my ACL and LCL (amongst other secondary injuries). From the first meeting I had with Mr Parkar I found him to be very informative in relation to my options with surgery, rehab and recovery time scales and this included honest pitfalls with each option. Mr Parkar spent the time to answer my, often many, questions and I never felt I was being rushed or just another patient. When it came to the almost 5 hour reconstruction surgery itself, Mr Parkar again spent the time to confirm before the surgery that I was aware what was happening and what to expect post Op. I was obviously even more pleased when I saw him afterwards and he told me, “after what was a complex and unusual surgery it had been a success and went as well as it could have!!” I’m now at 9 months post op and making great strides with my recovery. I have had numerous follow up meetings with Mr Parkar to check on my progress and he honestly leaves me with the impression that he genuinely cares about his patients. I can’t thank him enough!!

I was referred to Mr Parker for what was to be a half knee replacement. Having been in constant pain for over eighteen months, with bone on bone grinding. As I was only 50yrs old I believed I would be considered too young for this particular replacement procedure. Happily this was not the case. I had never been in hospital before and was extremely nervous and scared at the prospect but Mr Parker immediately put me at ease, clearly describing in detail the procedure he would be performing. He also, and very importantly to me, listened and answered my various questions and concerns with care and upmost consideration. I knew I could put my trust in him. Thursday afternoon 30th July 2020 (Mid Covid 19 ) Mr Parker changed my life. I’m so grateful the operation went so well, I was up the next morning walking & performing gentle exercise with the physios and in the afternoon discharged. Painkillers controlling my pain and with the help of the cope team visiting me at home ment my recovery went well. I am now able to walk without pain in my left knee which is absolutely amazing. I can’t thank Mr Parker & his team enough for what they have done for me.

On the 21.01.2021 I was admitted to the Queen’s Hospital (Amber A ward) with broken right leg. After X-ray and CT scan had been done doctor Asif Parkar came to me to explain them in a way I understood. He told me that I have multiple fractures of tibia and fibula and the complexity of the fracture. He informed me that a surgery was necessary and a metal work will be done. On the 22nd of January 2021 I had the surgery, after over 3 hours surgery doctor Parkar put all the pieces of my bones together. The next day I was ready for discharge, but before I left the hospital doctor Parkar came to check up on me, we talked about surgery, my concerns and future rehabilitation. Since then, I meet doctor Parkar in the clinic where we discuss a progress I have made. Every time I go for the follow up appointment, he is friendly, patient, and answers all my questions. I have always been treated with respect, dignity and compassion. Thank you.
